A Delta Air Lines flight had to make an emergency landing after a pilot was accidentally locked out of the cockpit, airport officials have said.
The Md-90 plane was going from Minneapolis to Las Vegas when the cockpit door malfunctioned at midday on Thursday.
The first officer took over the controls and managed to successfully land the aircraft at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
Airport spokesman Christine Crews said the situation was taken “very seriously”.
The captain explained the situation to the 168 people on board Delta Flight 1651.
Passengers reportedly applauded when the flight landed safely as scheduled at about 12:30pm.
The first officer took over the controls after the door jammed and he managed to successfully land the aircraft in Las Vegas.
