Two policemen were killed and two others wounded after their vehicle ran over a landmine that was planted on a road in Hodan district of the capital, Mogadishu.
The blast occured near Taleh area of Hodan district at about 10 a.m. local time when a police Land Cruiser ran over the landmine, police spokesman Sadiq Adan Ali said.
The police official added that there were no civilian casualties in the explosion.
The Al-Qaeda-linked militant group Al-Shabaab regualrly carries out bomb attacks against government troops in Mogadishu and other towns in southern Somalia.
